Hi
I work an hourly and commission-based job. Our commission is based on each month’s performance. Last month was not a great month, to be honest, it was a terrible month. One of my lowest months in years. It was not the month I was expecting.
I ask myself what happens when things don’t go my way. I could say woah is me. Life is not fair. I should have done that instead. Of course, all these negative thoughts are not going to help.
The first thing I need to realize is that I’ve been doing this job for 19 years. I’ve had bad months before, however that doesn’t reflect the kind of person I am. I am still a good person, capable of doing this job.
Second, to learn from the mistakes I made this past month. Stay more focused, and more positive when speaking to customers. Place reminders around my desk, on how I am here to help them out of a situation.
Recall that my managers want me to succeed. To focus on what I did right the last month. Use that moment into the next month.
Unfortunately, life doesn’t always go the way we wanted it to go. Just remember, that a bad day, or bad month, shouldn’t affect how you or I feel about yourself. I will have to leave that in the past, learn from it and move on to better things.
Thanks for reading. If this helped you please share it with a friend, it might help them too.
