I hope everyone is doing well. This weekend I went over to my sister’s in law house for her birthday. They have a pool, and while the weather was hot, the pool was a bit cold. My daughter wanted me to jump in. I was hesitant at 1st, I didn’t want to jump into a nice cold pool. I stood there and waited hoping the water would get warm in 5 seconds. I knew I could easy in, but that might be more of a shock. I eventually got the courage and jump in.
After I jump in the water wasn’t too bad.
The reason I mentioned this story is for a few reasons. One, my mind was telling me, don’t go in that cold water. You won’t like it. Go in easy and get use to it. While I didn’t like the initial shock, I am glad I jump in and got it over with. Sometimes if your afraid, it’s better just to do it and get it over with. Instead of going back and worth.
Another is the fact, some time you have to ignore your head. I was in the pool before, (I got out and was dry now). So I knew the water was going to be cold. So I ignored my head, and decided to jump in.
Also usually your brain, will make it seem that it’s worst, then it actually is. I knew it was going to be cold, but my head said it was going to be extremely cold. Once I decided to take a leap, and I got into that pool, the water wasn’t too bad.
Today I am thankful for: family walks.
