Today is the last day of Hanukkah. It is a Jewish holiday that celebrates the miracle that a small band of warriors defeated a much larger foe and that a small amount of oil lasted eight days instead of one. To celebrate, Jews around the world light menorah for eight-day.
The holiday occurs in the winter month when the days are short and the nights are long. The lights on the menorah remind me that there are brighter days ahead. Also, when lighting the menorah, there is a unique candle that lights the other ones. It made me realize that one person can help light up another person. That is why it’s essential to help to pick others up when they are down. To encourage others to follow their dreams. To be someone’s light on their journey. While it is not easy to be a light, remember that once you light someone else, both your worlds become much brighter.
